  • Cold as ice cream but still as sweet

Update: Lurgi almost gone - bit of a cough still but chancing getting back to goddam gym in a bit (not been since last Saturday - oh the shame) anyway.

Got teeth whitened or whatever, with that stuff where you can't smoke/drink coffee/tea etc. for three hours after the treatment. Jolly good for interviews next week.

Right - must get moving - I'm sure there's other stuff I should be doing but if I don't start with the goddaming soon, I'll end up leaving it for months again.

The ending is cut in this version but I like the bagpipes - turn up loud and dance around in your socks...

  • Lurgi!

YUK! Got sodding flu or whatever virus - coughing a lot and when I do my head feels like it could explode. Obviously, my symptoms are severe as I am a man after all!

Could really do without this as I have an interview on Friday morning and I should be pushing to get interviewed for another contract before that (better rate - actually a ridiculous rate - think they have their London and Manchester market rates confused - great!).

    I think I need a night nurse - but I wouldn't want her to catch this ;-)

No this is not *that* track - I just like this and it mentions catching a cold?!?!

  • Another one bites the dust

I wish people would stop dying all over the place. Yet another Cuckoolander ('Cuckooland' is what Mosh, another dead friend of mine, used to call the area I live in) died on Wednesday night. He was only 51 or 52. Don't know exactly how he died but I won't be surpised if it turns out to be the years of abusing his body that did it. And what did loads of us do last night? Yup that's right - from round about 5pm we started trickling into the pub and all got completely plastered in a sort of impromptu wake thingy.

Nick had been such a miserable bugger for as long as I've known him up until a few years ago when he met the woman he married. He'd really cleaned his act up and was noticably a much happier person. They had only just celebrated their 2nd anniversary on Tuesday.

Well if that's where getting all happy and optimistic gets you maybe I'll try to stay miserable - joking!

Here ye go Nicky boy this one's for you (and me -d'oh!)...

  • Going a bit you-choob mad...

One of my fave Neil Young songs [and yes - definitely meant for YKW]

Anuvva fave I used to busk...

Yuk - crap version - will replace it with a better one at some point.

  • Ok so it's not exactly summer

Where I am it still feels like winter - brrrr!

More Stray Cats - been bittorrenting - a bit naughty really but I will buy the CD's honest guv.

And yes I know it's all my own sodding fault. I deserve a "D'oh!" award.

  • Crescent Moon

The moon looks kind of moody or something from where I am. Still lovely though - it's my second favourite celestial body.

This womans voice is so sexy loike.

Nothing to do with the moon just like the songs - bit of Mary Coughlan...

Meet Me Where They Play The Blues
    A Leaf From A Tree
  • Guilty pleasures

One of those songs that you don't like to admit you like but at least this is a coooooooool version by "Stray Cats". I've always liked this and it kind of reminds me of my mum giving me advice on 'burds' - hmmm?

It's not a paradox, it's not even irony, it is however, if true, a pain in the arse that life is too short yet...

Added later: Ha ha - just realised - YKW was no doubt one of the girls over whom my mum attempted to console me. I don't think she actually said "You can't hurry love" but she would have been right - 19 years though!

  • The moon and stars were the gifts you gave...

    ...awe sweet.

Just a quickie - in a rush to get to goddam gym - been Tue, Thu, Sat so far this week. Still drinking too f*cking much though - d'oh!

As you know I'm a bit of a Kirsty MacColl fan. This is a song her dad, Ewan MacColl, wrote. Roberta Flack's version is probably the most famous but here's a nice one from the man in black...

  • LOML?!?!?!

Awe - someone sent this to me a couple of years ago. Wonder how they feel now - nah - I'm not going to wonder. I shall remain delusional instead - much better!
